About

Cherly (b.1990) is a composer, arranger, and conductor based in Jakarta. She was a Japanese Literature graduate from Binus University Jakarta. She started her first music experience by joining Feixiang Choir and was an active member of Paramabira, the Binus University student choir. In 2012, she became a member of Batavia Madrigal Singers. The following year, she took the post as the music director of Feixiang Choir. In 2018, together with her friends she formed Quaver Vocal Ensemble, consisting eight singers including herself.

Cherly studies vocal under the direction of Joseph Kristanto Pantioso and conducting under the direction of Budi Utomo Prabowo. She actively participates in vocal masterclasses from Bernadetta Astari and Towako Sato-Schöllhorn and conducting masterclasses from Brady Allred and Nicolas Fink. Besides singing and conducting, she is also known as a composer and arranger. She is now actively teaching in Checkpoint Music Studio, a music school she found with Alexandra Katya.
